Terms & Conditions – Silver Cabs Melbourne

Silver Cabs Melbourne (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a Melbourne-based taxi service provider offering airport transfers, local point-to-point travel, corporate transport, parcel delivery, and hourly bookings. Our goal is to deliver safe, reliable and comfortable transportation for all customers.

By accessing or using our services, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.


1. Definitions

Customer: Any individual or organisation using Silver Taxi Melbourne’s taxi services.

Booking: A confirmed reservation for a taxi. Bookings may be made online, through our website at https://silvercabsmelb.com.au, or by phone.

Payment: The fare or amount owed for any taxi service supplied by Silver Taxi Melbourne.

Cancellation: A customer-initiated termination of a confirmed booking, regardless of the channel used.


2. Customer Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking.
  • You must provide accurate contact information and valid payment details when required.

3. Bookings

Bookings may be completed in the following ways:

When making a booking, customers must provide:

  • Name
  • Phone number or email address
  • Pickup and drop-off location
  • Number of passengers
  • Special requirements (if any)

After receiving your request, we will provide booking confirmation and an estimated fare. All estimated fares are subject to change based on traffic, route taken, tolls, waiting time, and other real-time factors.


4. Payments

We accept cash, credit cards, debit cards, Google Pay, and Apple Pay.

A 5% service fee applies to all card and digital payments.

Full payment is due at the end of your trip unless prepaid at the time of booking.


5. Cancellations

Standard Rides (Non-Event Bookings)
  • More than 1 hour before pickup: No cancellation fee
  • Within 1 hour of pickup: 50% of the estimated fare
Special Events, Large Groups, or High-Demand Days
  • More than 12 hours before pickup: No fee
  • Within 12 hours of pickup: 50% of the estimated fare

If the vehicle has already been dispatched at the time of cancellation, full fare may apply.


6. No-Show Policy

A customer is considered a no-show when the driver arrives at the pickup location and:

  • The customer cannot be reached
  • The customer does not show up
  • The customer cancels after the driver has arrived

No-show fee: 100% of the estimated fare


7. Refunds

Refunds are issued under the following conditions:

  • Cancellations made more than 1 hour in advance (standard bookings)
  • Cancellations more than 12 hours in advance (special events)
  • When Silver Taxi Melbourne cancels the booking due to operational reasons

Refunds are returned to the original method of payment

Refunds do not apply to:

  • No-shows
  • Late cancellations
  • Completed trips

8. Waiting Time

  • Drivers wait up to 15 minutes at the pickup address.
  • First 5 minutes are free
  • Next 10 minutes: $1 per minute
  • After 15 minutes, the driver may leave and a no-show fee may apply unless additional waiting time is prepaid.

9. Damages

Any damage caused to a Silver Taxi Melbourne vehicle by a passenger—including spills, stains, or physical damage—must be paid for by the customer.

Cleaning or repair fees are charged to the customer’s provided payment method.


10. General Conduct

  • Treat drivers and other passengers respectfully
  • Avoid abusive or disruptive behaviour
  • Refrain from consuming food or drinks unless approved by the driver
  • Not smoke inside the vehicle
  • Not carry flammable, hazardous, or illegal materials
  • Notify us of oversized or excess luggage during booking

Silver Taxi Melbourne reserves the right to refuse service to any customer who fails to comply with these expectations.


11. Safety

  • All Silver Taxi Melbourne drivers are properly licensed, accredited, and insured.
  • Vehicles are maintained regularly according to Victorian transport standards.
  • Seat belts must be worn at all times.
  • Customers must follow driver instructions for safety reasons.

12. Liability

  • Personal belongings lost or damaged during travel
  • Delays caused by traffic, weather, road closures, accidents, or events outside our control
  • Missed flights or appointments due to factors beyond our reasonable responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring adequate travel time.


13. Additional Charges

  • Airport tolls
  • Parking or waiting fees
  • Night surcharges
  • Public holiday surcharges
  • Excess luggage fee
  • Cleaning or damage fees
  • Third-party payment processing fees

14. Refusal of Service

  • The customer behaves aggressively or poses a safety risk
  • The customer attempts to travel without payment
  • The customer violates these terms and conditions
  • The customer requests travel that is illegal, unsafe or inappropriate

15. Changes to These Terms

Silver Taxi Melbourne may amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. Updates will be published on our website:
